Vida Sol e Mar Beach Village and the EcoResort are perfectly integrated into the thriving and well-preserved natural setting of Praia do Rosa, in the city of Imbituba (SC). Due to our privileged location surrounded by the beach, lake, waterfall, slopes and hills covered in native vegetation, we offer our guests and visitors excursions, skillfully guided by one of our specialized guides, to breathtaking settings for observation of Atlantic Forest birds.
By 1996, approximately 596 bird species had been identified on Santa Catarina’s southern coast (Rosário, L.A. - As aves em Santa Catarina: Distribuição geográfica e meio ambiente), including 40 that are characteristic of the Atlantic and Restinga Forest ecosystems and can be observed on Vida Sol e Mar’s Villas and EcoResorts’ own grounds.
Our guests wake up every day to the songs of birds like the rufous hornero, fork-tailed flycatcher, great kiskadee, tropical kingbird, rufous-collared sparrow, saffron finch, burrowing owl, striated heron, ringed kingfisher, glittering throated emerald, campo flicker, snowy egret, purple gallinule, tropical parula, neotropic cormorant, tropical mockingbird, sayaca tanager, brazil tanager and rufous-bellied thrush, among others.
We also offer ornithologist guided tours to observe and study the birds in their natural habitats. Below you can read a brief description of some of the birds that can be seen at the Beach Village, the Vida Sol e Mar EcoResort and along the state of Santa Catarina’s southern shores. These descriptions were adapted from material that can be found in the Brazilian Student Online Library.
